This is one of my 'Impression' series. Cork City is an ancient city with wonderful historical buildings. Shandon Bells or locally known as (The Four Faced Liar, as supposedly none of the Clock Faces tell the same time). The streets reflection on the River Lee allows for a dramatic use of colour which I am really enjoying. The street and building are easily recognisable but my use of strong bold colours gives a sense of the character of the city. This was painted over the Jazz Weekend and I think there is a sense of movement and music about this painting.
